My first piece of advice: wish your loved one a happy valentine's day right away!
I am not (at all) a fan of the method where you keep the surprise until the end of the day by making the other person believe that you have forgotten the occasion. Why?
- Happiness is meant to be shared: you enjoy planning something, you can't wait to have a good time... so why deprive the person you love most of that joy? Don't give everything away, keep some elements of the surprise, but make sure you create anticipation and excitement.
- Your sweetheart may be at the end of their tether, thinking that you have (again?) forgotten a key date. Don't leave them in that state all day, have a heart 😉
- It may not be very honest or fair to pretend to have forgotten when you really have!
Mark the day with attention
How good it feels to be loved <3 Scatter love all day long with little messages via telephone or email, by leaving post-it notes around the house or in your belongings. It costs nothing, but as your messages come from the heart, it's always appreciated.
What to write: describe your feelings, the reasons for your love, your wishes for both of you, quotes that represent your couple, the lyrics of Your song...
PREPARE THE MOMENT WHEN YOU'RE GOING TO CELEBRATE IT TOGETHER
Tonight, you'll get together and you can celebrate Valentine's Day. It's not too late to organise this moment:
- Plan the dinner: at a restaurant or at home
- The decoration: a touch of flowers really adds something, feel free to buy some. However, it is not necessary to present them as a gift to give, I see them more as a message, a decoration and a way of setting the mood.
GIFT IDEAS USING THE SENSITIVE ROPE
You're short of time and looking for something effective: use the sore point, namely your children and your relationship history.
Here are a few ideas on this theme:
- Create a flashback: for example, retrace the 7 important stages of your relationship. If you have old photos lying around, it will be easy. Otherwise, go to a photo printing kiosk. To give as a gift: a painting (takes a little longer), a pretty box or an envelope (pretty if possible). The main thing, in any case, will be to be able to talk about these moments again and how much you love life with your loved one
