It all began with a rather magical phone call: Hélène had heard about me from a service provider with a heart of gold and our conversation was immediately in tune, as if we knew each other. A beautiful love story and a project full of challenges: a surprise ceremony on the Garonne.
Unusual preparations, different versions depending on the participants (depending on what they knew about the day), millimetre timing to make it stick to the crossing, I will never forget these months of support, creation and exchange.
On the big day, the heat was on and getting out on the water was a real pleasure. The surprise had worked well, creating a real moment of joy and wonder among the guests. So even though the waves were calm, we experienced a great wave of emotion and I surfed on words
Some highlights:
- The gabarre boats : to accommodate everyone, two gabarre boats were fastened together and decorated just after their sightseeing tours. We had 20 minutes to get ready! When I arrived and saw that one of the boats was called ‘Carpe Diem’, I thought to myself that we couldn't be more in tune with the spirit of this ceremony.
- The music: The band Ayjay also came on board and provided a magnificent way of setting the mood for this intimate and personal moment. It was magical!
- The speeches of loved ones : each speech was enhanced according to the common theme told during the crossing, while keeping in mind the technical constraints caused by this unusual location. We heard trembling voices, saw tears on cheeks, discovered powerful messages... enough to feel completely overwhelmed 🙂 (and yet, the boat didn’t sink 😉).
- The way the couple looked at each other: I can still remember the intense yet tender way they gazed at one another throughout the ceremony. Love is such a beautiful thing!
