10 good reasons to get married in the spring

That's it, the good weather is here, spring has just arrived. And with spring comes the wedding season! Don't wait for summer, find out why spring weddings are a great idea and get started!

1- They are the first celebrations of the year: during the winter months, after the overdose of festivities at Christmas, it's dead calm, we stay warm at home, or else we huddle together in small groups for a raclette party. With a wedding in the spring, your guests will be grateful to you for offering them a good time, for getting together with friends, for celebrating in short.

2- For beautiful flower bouquets, at less cost: many flowers bloom in spring (hyacinths, camellias, magnolias, lily of the valley, azaleas, etc.), enough to make beautiful spring or shabby chic arrangements in lovely pastel shades. What's more, choosing seasonal flowers is the best way to buy them cheaply.

3- You don't have a tan brand: strapless wedding dresses and halter-neck fashion are all very well, but it can all be spoilt by an ‘agricultural’ tan with the mark of the T-shirt/suspenders/glasses. In spring, our complexion is still pure and milky, having been spared the sun's aggressions all winter.

4- Service providers are still zen and rested: After several months of low season spent resting, preparing and training, your service providers are happy to start the year afresh, fresh, full of energy, enthusiasm and new ideas to apply.

5- Enjoy the long weekends: With public holidays and long weekends, you can organise your wedding over several days and your loved ones who live far away can travel to be with you.

6- Rain on your wedding day is a good thing...ok, I'm coming out 😉

7- Our pretty feet are free and clear: In winter, we apply creams to make our feet really soft and we wrap them up in nice thick socks. Our feet emerge looking healthy and beautiful, and are ready to make their first outing of the year in their pretty wedding shoes.

8- We can loose up on accessories: the advantage of not knowing if it will be sunny/rainy/cold/windy is that we can choose from a whole range of accessories: hat, stole, bolero, fan, umbrella... A good excuse for shopping!

9- You can pretend that you're crying because of allergies: Are you wondering what happens to you when even seeing two pigeons sharing a leftover small oven makes you burst into tears? You will be overcome with emotions for everything and anything, and that will be normal. Don't hesitate to play the ‘spring allergies’ card when you want to play hard 🙂

10- "In spring, we're a little crazy", as the poem by Lucie Delarue-Mardrus says. That's what I learnt in primary school and it's with that child's eye view that I continue to marvel at spring.
