A few months ago, Aurélie, a photographer from Claraly Studio, contacted me to ask if I would be willing to participate in an inspiration shoot on the theme of Kinfolk. At the time, I had no idea what kinfolk was or how to do a kinfolk ceremony but I knew Aurélie well, I liked her style, her personality and her professionalism so I went for it without hesitation: I was sure she would be able to put together a wonderful project.
What is Kinfolk?
This trend is characterised by a return to the essentials: simple, good and healthy products, and conviviality.
By applying the Kinfolk principle to a wedding, you get a wedding where the key word isauthenticity a small circle of friends, a convivial place, a large table, simple pleasures while remaining chic.
The story of this wedding would therefore be a couple who decide to celebrate their union in an intimate, convivial and exceptional way. The choice of venue is therefore essential because it must allow them to feel like they are in a bubble, far from everything. And precisely, the Demeure du Siècle, in Cap Ferret, is one of those places where time seems to stand still. The decoration will only serve to sublimate it and add the Kinfolk touches we are looking for for this wedding.
The work of the decorator and the floral artist therefore consisted of developing a relaxed but elegant style, giving pride of place to natural materials and vegetation.
For the buffet, it is refined and convivial, a large table is set up outside, under the lanterns. The vanilla raspberry flavoured wedding cake and the light and airy macaroons reflect the style of the decoration of the secular ceremony with the delicate details of macramé.
I also really liked the very cosy photobooth corner: under a teepee with cushions and throws.
This little corner of paradise offers everything you need for a wedding (including accommodation) and you can party until the end of the night...with a magnificent sunrise over the Bassin d'Arcachon for the more adventurous.

Create a Kinfolk ceremony
Here again, we start with simple and natural materials: wood, cotton, deceptively wild vegetation.
The decoration is neat and refined: beautiful wooden chairs, flowers, a magnificent wooden arch decorated with macramé, lanterns form the central aisle and a vintage wooden console is used to display the wedding rings, vows and ritual elements.
For a truly personalised atmosphere, an artist accompanies the various moments of the ceremony on guitar and voice.
The bride and groom exchange vows in a very poetic way as they have been calligraphed on beautiful paper folded in the crane, according to the art of origami, a symbol of longevity.
To symbolise the complementarity of the bride and groom and to experience a fun and convivial moment, we mark the union of the spouses with the cocktail ritual. In this ritual, each ingredient represents a part of the bride and groom (his or her personality, his or her story, a value). Just as the union of two beings forms a harmonious and strong couple, the union of the ingredients forms a delicious and powerful beverage. Once the cocktail is made, everyone toasts the happiness of the bride and groom.
Romanticism and conviviality, this is a kinfolk ceremony full of authenticity, a beautiful moment of sharing for the couple and their loved ones.
The service providers
Nothing would have been possible without the work and good humour of all the service providers involved in this shoot. Of course, the weather was not on our side, but as you can see: the rain didn't spoil the party!
