Before officiating at secular ceremonies, I was a wedding planner at Mimesis Events, Mimesis events, the agency I founded with Nadège (feel free to click on the link to see our faces). It was at the wedding fair at the Carrousel du Louvre, where I met Christelle and Benoît. That was in January 2016... already! At the end of 2016, Mimesis closed its doors for other adventures for Nadège and I, but we know that we will meet again in 2017 for mimesis weddings 🙂 That's why today I'm presenting this lovely country wedding that we coordinated and celebrated on 5 August 2017.
OUR TASKS FOR THIS COUNTRY WEDDING
From the outset, Christelle explained to us that she would like to be actively involved in planning her wedding, in particular by doing the decorations, stationery, etc. herself. Our task was therefore to create a design and decide on a decoration that she could do herself, with her beloved and her family and friends. So we talked a lot about the theme, I suggested lots of ideas to understand what people liked and didn't like, and so, little by little, the decoration and scenography were specified.
Our mission was also to coordinate the ideas and surprises of all the participants, who came from all walks of life, so that everything flowed smoothly and was technically feasible. The guests never stopped surprising us on this mission 😉
Finally, our mission was to coordinate the three days of the wedding. Three days that the bride and groom were able to spend with their loved ones in a very, very large estate where you feel like ‘one of the family’.
Setting up the decoration
On Friday, we arrived at the Boisvinet estate in Le Plessis Dorin, near Le Mans, to set up the decoration, welcome the first arrivals, and start our coordination.
When I saw the decorations the bride and groom had prepared, I was overcome with emotion: everything I had imagined and planned had been beautifully realised by the bride and groom and their loved ones. All that was left to do was to set it all up!

The D day
It's time! The big day! We receive the hairdressers before 7am (they have a lot of people to look after!) and the pastries at 7.30am, and off we go!

The ceremony at the town hall
In Plessis Dorin, this wedding will be the only one of the day, we have the luxury of setting up, of being able to take our time. The mayor knows the bride and groom very well and personalises the ceremony.
The arrival by car is also a great moment: this car belongs to the family, and has a beautiful history. Not only is it beautiful and vintage, but it is also a magnificent symbol for this very important day.

The religious ceremony at the church
When I was given the keys to the church the day before, I couldn't believe it: yes, this usually closed church was going to open its doors for us. It was a beautiful ceremony, all about sharing.

The reception (the party!!)
And now it's time to party! Cocktails, bouquet throwing and then the reception.

A magnificent wedding cake reception
For the seating plan, a theme: cereals and summer flowers. On a large frame, the names of the guests are written on a card with a small flower attached. The guests have to work out which plant the flower comes from by looking at the bouquets on the table. A rustic and fun decoration for a game-based setting.

The next day: brunch time!
After a night of partying, the early risers enjoyed a breakfast in the gîte, the children were calmly looked after by the babysitter (a top team!), the late risers slept in... And as for us, we looked after everyone, redecorated the room and coordinated the setting up of the brunch at 12 noon, a gourmet barbecue to finish the weekend in a friendly atmosphere.
