— Postponed wedding —
You have been waiting for this date for months, you have already made it your own, you may even have had it engraved on your wedding rings.
The countdown had begun, a mixture of impatience and nervousness, then came the crisis: a dramatic, unpredictable epidemic, increasingly severe restrictions and finally lockdown.
— Postponed wedding —
So, with a heavy heart, and after numerous phone calls and emails to your various service providers, you have managed to find a new date to celebrate your union. You now have a new date in sight, and the countdown begins again...
— Postponed wedding —
But even if you know that your big day will take place in a few months, you are not indifferent to the arrival of the original date of your wedding. The proof: as a reflex, you catch yourself checking the weather forecast at the planned location of the ceremony.
It's perfectly natural: after all the preparations, this day is not quite like any other. So, to add a little magic and make it a little special, here are a few ideas.
Candlelit dinner
Keep some romance for this day: a pretty table, a good dinner, the light and warmth of candles. It's a moment just for you, to celebrate your love and your story. This report is now part of your story, your own little twist.
And if you bought wine for your dinner, don't hesitate to open a bottle, to give a nod to this special day, and to project yourself to your new big day.

Bringing everyone together virtually
Getting married was an opportunity to celebrate with your loved ones, and lockdown reminds us how much we miss them. Never mind! Organise a big virtual get-together with your loved ones via video call! An aperitif will be an opportunity to toast you, already looking forward to getting together for good at your wedding. If you have guests in several different countries, plan a time that suits everyone. Then send invitations by email, like announcements, make it a festive occasion and think of it as a warm-up for your wedding!

Perform a symbolic act
Burn the old date
To experience a symbolic moment together, you can decide to write the original date of your wedding on a piece of paper and then burn it together, saying: ‘This day is not ours, let's move forward and look forward hand in hand to the [new date]. On that day, our lives and our souls will be bound together forever, aware of how lucky we are to be able to celebrate it as we have always dreamed of.

Plant a seed of hope
It's spring, the season of rebirth, so let's take inspiration from nature and start afresh. Circumstances have forced you to reconsider your entire organisation, but the end goal remains the same: to unite. So, to symbolise renewal and resilience, I suggest you plant a seed. To make it grow, you will need patience and daily care: isn't it a nice symbol for your couple?

List game
How about marking this day with moments of sharing, laughter and games? That's what I suggest with my selection of quizzes, questionnaires and activities on my Pinterest account. Have fun, spend time together and make memories. <3

Review your questionnaires
When preparing for a ceremony, I always send my little couples a questionnaire to fill in separately. This questionnaire invites them to reflect on their life, their relationship, their journey, their vision of the future, etc. To make this day extra special, I suggest you share your answers. But be careful, not just any old way: each of you keeps your copy and you take it in turns to read out your answers. This will allow you to set the tone and add your comments. You can also choose, by mutual agreement, not to share certain answers if they helped you write your vows.

Conclusion – Postponed Wedding = New Opportunities
In the end, the wedding may be postponed, but you have twice the opportunity to celebrate your love!
Don't forget that it's often the unexpected that spices up events (if they're managed well, of course!). Take, for example, the wedding I told you about here: a storm broke out at the time of the wedding, everything had to be changed at the last minute, and yet it was a wonderful, happy and successful day.
I therefore hope that this article will help you to experience this day serenely and lovingly... while awaiting YOUR D-Day.
See you soon!
